Carols For Kenya
Get into the Christmas mood early and check out ‘Carols for Kenya ’. This year all the old favourite carols, with a few new ones, are brought together in one great album. With the help of family and friends Nora Cogan has produced a varied and entertaining album.
All profits from the sale of the CD will go directly to Turkana , Kenya where Nora funds a project there since her return three years ago. Ms. Cogan spent two years in Kenya during which time she worked with the teachers in an effort to improve the level of education in Turkana. A teacher herself Nora could see the need for reference and text books and along with the help of the people of Cork built an education centre in the central town of Lodwar .
The centre provides a place of learning and study on a daily basis as it hosts a library and audio visual room. It also holds workshops regularly to upgrade the teachers. The Turkana Teachers Resource Centre has no income of its own, therefore all money raised by Ms Cogan’s yearly fundraisers benefit so many who would never have access to these facilities with barely enough money to survive themselves.

He will speak about Turkana and launch the album at 7p.m. in Clancy’s Bar, Princes St. on November 7th.
