Nora CoganNora Cogan
I am the second eldest of ten children to Barry and Aislinn, with six brothers - Diarmuid, Fionán, Barra, Eamonn, Martin and Séamus - and three sisters - Máire, Aisling and Siobhán. I work as a primary school teacher in Scoil Oilibhéir National School in Ballyvolane, Cork, Ireland. I have spent several years abroad, including a year in Australia, two years in the USA and, of course, two years in Kenya.

Since I have returned home to Ireland I have had time to reflect onj my time in Lodwar.

The Catholic Diocese Of Lodwar
We work among the Turkana tribe in Northern Kenya, providing medical services, education, clean drinking water, human rights advocacy, improved agriculture and a chance to control their own destiny. Turkana has been plagued for centuries by recurrent drought and famine. In the Diocese there are twenty parishes, eleven congregations of priests, ten congregations of religious sisters, five congregations of religious brothers and many volunteers.
